Dear Xiangya Alumni:

In celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the founding of Xiangy Overseas Alumni Association (XYOAA), we are very pleased to present to you the official logo of our organization.

The logo is carefully selected based on its overall appearance and meanings from 11 participating designs that we received in the past three months. These logo candidates were anonymously presented to our Board members for vote. We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciations to the logo designer, one of our alumni, who did such a wonderful job! We would also like to thank all of those who have devoted their precious time and great efforts to designing the logos.

Attached is a pdf slide showing the logo and the detailed interpretations. We hope you will not only like it, but also keep the alma mater in your heart and continue to contribute to our alumni association in the future.

Best wishes,

Jason Ming Zhao赵明 (San Antonio, TX)
Li-Ming Zhang 章利铭 (Pittsburgh, PA)
Wei Chao 巢卫 (Boston, MA)

The architecture inside the logo represents the iconic “Xiangya Red Building”, which has been the symbol of Xiangya Medical School. Below “湘雅校友” are water waves, symbolizing “overseas”. The crimson color is chosen for the logo, as it is the color of the historic “Red Building”. 2002 is the year when the XYOAA was founded.
